Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

bCasino has a pure focus on slot games, and I wanted to see if it has enough going on to keep me entertained.

Design-wise, I was put off by the massive scrolling banner which took up my entire laptop screen making it impossible to see which page I was currently on. The sub-menu is very clean with just a few slot categories and a dropdown with all the game providers listed.

Before signing up, I was given the option to allow in-browser notifications. It was a simple 2-step affair to create my account. One minor irritation was the address being just one box which wasn’t compatible with my autofill info. The phone number box was split in two, which is very old fashioned and tricky when I used my mobile number. After filling in my details, I got an instant email to verify my address by clicking a link.

When making my first deposit, I entered the bonus code, which was stated on the welcome offer. There was just one box to enter the code and no button or checkbox to opt-in or out of the bonus. Entering the code and deposit amount and then clicking continue just took me to the page to fill in my card details. This page just had the £40 cash deposit listed but nothing else. Once the transaction was complete, I clicked around the casino pages and ‘My Account’ section but couldn’t find any mention of the bonus funds.

I sent an email to the support team (no live chat due to COVID-19), and the replay simply said ‘I have checked your account and unfortunately there is nothing I can do regarding bonuses as you currently have a pending withdrawal’. They didn’t attempt to explain what might have happened during my deposit which I found pretty annoying.

The 3-part welcome offer is one of the most generous I’ve seen for a while with a total of £1,200 possible across the deal if you can actually claim it. However, there’s a 7-day deadline on the offer which is pretty tough going for most players. The wagering requirement of each bonus is a touch less than average at thirty times the deposit plus bonus amount, or 30x (D+B). As expected, there was a pretty hefty list of games which contribute zero towards the wagering.

Beyond the welcome offer, there looks to be plenty going on with regular reload and free spins bonuses. They also had a €60,000 slot tournament occurring when I took a look, so there’s plenty for regular players here I feel.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

With my newly deposited £40 real cash balance showing, I was keen to see what the slot selection had to offer me. I can’t say I was blown away by the selection here, even the ‘Hot Games’ tab seemed to be lacking some of the casino big hitters I’m used to seeing. The absence of NetEnt seemed really obvious to me as I scrolled through the game selection.

The games were split up into pretty neat categories which were self-explanatory apart from ‘Bonus Games’ which just felt random. The real kicker here was the lack of any live casino games. It made the site feel pretty unfinished but won’t bother slot fans too much.

First up, I had a few £0.40 spins on Who Wants to be a Millionaire £0.40 spins and pretty much broke even. Next up was Jungle Jim and the Lost Sphinx, but again there was nothing decent to report in the way of wins. Arctic Magic from Microgaming was my next stop, and despite the enchanting graphics, there was still nothing coming. With my funds rapidly diminishing I had a crack at Wixx with some cautions £0.10 spins. There’s no happy ending to report here as one of my poorest ever desktop gaming sessions came to an end.

bCasino on mobile

Like most new casinos, our casino is fully mobile compatible and offers a super player-friendly interface that is easy to use and follow on smaller screens.

There are over 300 mobile casino titles for you to enjoy on the go. As long as you have a stable internet connection, you can enjoy a myriad of gaming options.

Our site was also created using HTML5 so there are no mobile casino apps to download.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

After my experience on my laptop, I grabbed my mobile and logged into the site via my Chrome browser using the same home wifi connection. I wasn’t overly impressed by the layout of the mobile site with the promotional banner still scrolling automatically at the top of the screen. There’s also a big green deposit button at the base which takes up the width of the screen and could easily be tapped without meaning to. Things felt quite laggy when I tapped between the different menus. The thumbnails of the games took a couple of seconds to fully load up, which wasn’t a good experience.

Mobile games wise, I had a few bets on 3D European Roulette and won nothing from betting on red 4 times in a row, so moved on. Testing out a simple slot in the form of Babushkas, I won £2 from my last few £0.10 spins, which were a nice boost. Finally, I gave the more demanding North Storm a spin which loaded up and played without any issues.

I opened up the live chat box to ask support a question but it wasn’t available at the time. The message said ‘Due to the Coronavirus we are working with limited staff and therefore our Live Chat will not be available until further notice’. I dropped the team an email on the address given instead to ask them about my lack of welcome bonus. I got an acknowledgement email which said they would respond to me within the next 24 hours.

I got a reply just inside the stated 24 hours with just a single line response. There was no effort to explain what might have happened with my bonus or how they could help me out. This is a pretty negative experience and feels worse given the lack of any live chat support right now.

KYC & Documents

As a licensed gambling operator, we are required by gambling and anti-money laundering regulations to check and verify your identity and age. Players are requested to submit the following documents:

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

Searching around on the site, I found a dedicated ‘Verification Policy’. This lists all the info and documentation that bCasino might want from me to fully verify my account. This info is pretty hidden away and wasn’t flagged up in any of the initial pop-up boxes or emails when I signed up as a new player.

After requesting a withdrawal, I got an email that said ‘Below is the documentation we generally require for processing a withdrawal’. I found that a bit confusing and wasn’t sure if it means they want the docs now or not. Also, the formatting here meant that two separate requirements looked like one. They were asking for some proof of ID and card ownership from me. Using their ‘Document Dropzone’ page, I sent an image of my UK driving licence, bank statement, front and back of the debit card I used and a screenshot of the deposit coming from my bank account.

Once I’d submitted the documents, I got a reply in just over 2 hours to say that two bits of information were missing. When I sent over the extra docs, I got a response in less than 2 hours to say my account had been updated and my withdrawal was being reviewed. I was impressed with their swift response in reviewing the documents I sent asking for corrections.

You can make deposits using a range of payment methods as follows:

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

Right after signing up, I clicked on the deposit button to drop some funds into my new account. In the pop-up window, I tried to use my Revolut Mastercard Debit, but this didn’t work. I switched to my Visa Debit account card instead, and that went through with no issues. The one odd quirk was the card expiry date not appearing when using the autofill option in my browser. Although it was missing the digits, it had a green check next to it and worked fine.

Once I clicked ‘Submit’, the confirmation window said ‘Your deposit has been successfully submitted and it will be processed shortly’. My £40 deposit appeared instantly, and I got an email confirmation for it too.

The £20 minimum withdrawal limit is at the top end of the scale for me, and I’d prefer it to be lower. I had no issues in making the request to withdraw £20 of my funds and instantly got an email to confirm my request. The email said ‘You may cancel your withdrawal request through the Withdrawal tab of the My Account section of the site at any time until we approve the request’. However, when requesting the withdrawal, some red text said that ‘Following recent regulations, we are currently unable to allow the option of cancelling a withdrawal request’. It looks like the email copy needs updating here.

The email also states that the casino ‘aims to review and process all withdrawal requests within 3 business days once all documentation has been received and verified’. Once I’d passed the KYC checks the funds hit my UK bank account in just under 48 hours.
