Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

It's a real shame as there are just a few quirks holding this casino back from being a great place to play.

The overall design of Simba Spins is a bit busy for my taste. I get that they are going for a wild/Lion King theme thing, but the design and colours of the buttons sometimes made it difficult to see exactly what they said or where to click. I think they could retain the vibe but clean things up to give the site a classier feel. Right now, it tends to look a bit cheap, which is a real shame.

Registration here was via a very simple 3-step form which only asked for the basics such as my address, mobile number and date of birth. Once I'd clicked to confirm and my account had been created, I landed on the bonus offer screen that had a massive 'Deposit Now' button. I clicked on this and dropped in some funds to get the games spinning. I did get a welcome email, but it had gone straight into my spam folder, so I didn't see this at first and thought the casino was just being plain rude.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

After making my deposit, I had to refresh the page to activate the bonus offer. This was a worrying moment and not the best of starts but a pop-up appeared containing a treasure chest. I had to tap and hold it until it burst open to proclaim that I'd won 50 free spins, worth £0.30 each, on Starburst. When I clicked on 'Play Now' I got a responsible gambling message with the option to 'Apply Tools' or simply 'Continue'. I hit 'Continue', but this took me back to the casino lobby, so I had to reload Starburst to play my free spins. All a bit haphazard!

I won £7.80 in bonus money from the 50 free spins. However, after looking at the harsh wagering requirements, I knew that I wasn't about to try and play through to turn my winnings into real cash. To do that would require me to wager 65x (B) the amount of bonus won plus 65x (D) my deposit amount which worked out at a monstrous £3,170. This, combined with the random nature of the number of spins you get as a welcome bonus, makes it a pretty unappealing offer in my book.

Most of the thrills that come from playing these slot games can be attributed to popular software game developers in the industry, including NetEnt and Eyecon.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

Having a look around after signing up, I found the site easy to navigate and was able to find all the titles I wanted to play. I liked the search function, which auto-suggested games as I typed and the categories were kept simple with the function to add my favourites. I'm happy to report that all the games I played loaded up fine and there were no glitches, even with the live casino stream.

I started off with a lengthy session on Rainbow Jackpots but just couldn't trigger any of the bonus features with my £0.30 spins so left empty-handed. I then went to try out a few £0.10 spins on Aztec Gems, but nothing decent came my way there either so I switched to Diamond Strike. I didn't have any substantial wins, and my balance was only heading one way by now, and that was down.

Trying out the live casino section instead, I loaded up Pragmatic Play's Live Roulette and bet on red when there was a long streak on black. Once again, the wheel refused to cooperate, and I walked away with nothing to show for it. There isn't a Live Casino section as such, it's just called table games and has only a handful of live streaming games. I'd say if you're really into your live casino gaming you're going to need to look elsewhere for a better choice.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

The mobile site was fairly easy to use and worked well for the most part on my Android mobile phone. The one confusing element to the navigation is the quick links at the bottom of the screen. They have buttons to Fluffy Favourites and Starburst either side of the cashier button, and I've no idea why. Maybe most of their players love these titles so much that Simba Slots thought they'd add them in?

The slots menu is identical to the desktop version and even provides the search feature, which was very handy. The main issue with the mobile navigation was that I sometimes couldn't scroll up and down the pages. They got stuck but not unresponsive, so I could only click on the top 6 or so games that were showing. It was pretty annoying but reloading the page each time appeared to fix the issue.

Games-wise, I fired up Chilli Heat and managed to land an £8 win from the respins feature there. I moved on to try Immortal Romance and had a few £3-ish wins coming my way to keep things ticking along nicely. To finish off, I had a run on Piggy Riches Megaways with some £0.20 spins but have nothing to report back from there.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

The player support feels hidden away as clicking on 'Contact Us' brings up the FAQ page. This has a decent amount of answers to all the obvious stuff about bonuses, payments, etc., and right at the bottom, it mentioned support. Here I found a link to the actual contact us page which gave a support email address and button to chat via Facebook messenger.

I opted for the messenger option but didn't get a response to my first message for over 13 hours. I exchanged a few messages with the support agent, but there were big gaps between their responses, and I found it pretty frustrating to use. It would be much better to have dedicated onsite live chat support instead.

I also have to question the advice given of changing my address in the accounts setting just to pass verification; this just doesn't seem right to me at all.

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

Simba Slots were very clear from the start that I'd need to submit documents to verify my account. It was mentioned during the signup process, and I got a pop-up reminding me of this each time I logged into my account.

Separate to this, my ability to make a withdrawal request was put on hold whilst they said they were verifying my identity. This was based on the info I had given them when I signed up, and the function became available around 10 hours after I created my account.

Once I made a withdrawal request, I was asked to provide 2 forms of verification - a copy of my driving license or passport and a utility bill or bank statement. There was an email address to send my documents to but no secure upload feature on the site which would have been preferable.

After emailing them across, I got an autoresponder asking me to reply to it with my DOB, username and postcode which I did. Having just moved, I didn't have a bank statement with my new address on. I contacted support about this, and they just told me to change the address on my account back to the old one. I guess that's one way to defeat the system!

After doing this, my account was verified in just over 10 minutes so no lengthy waiting around like they had warned me there would be. I'm not sure if this is because I was on the chat with a support agent at the time and they just did it for me, but it was really fast. That said, It certainly doesn't feel like the best way to deal with account verification by a long shot. Doing things this way increases the chance of customers missing the details and dragging out the process even more.

You can make deposits and request withdrawals in GBP. All cards and payment menthods must be in the name of the registered person. You can make deposits via one of the below methods:

Casino tester's comment: Charlie Stamp

Once I'd signed up and created a new account, I landed on the welcome offer screen where I was encouraged to make my first deposit. I filled in my card details and selected a deposit amount. It was annoying that there was no option to manually enter an amount so I could only choose between £10, £20, £50, £100 or £200. Hitting the massive 'Deposit Now' button, there was a few seconds delay, and then I landed back on the homepage, but my balance was showing £0.

I reloaded the page, and the welcome bonus treasure chest popped up, asking me to tap and hold on it. It was a relief to see that my £50 balance was showing at the top of the screen and I continued on to play through my bonus spins.

When I first attempted to make a withdrawal, I got a pop-up which said the casino needed to carry out some checks on my account to safeguard against fraud. It stated that the process can take up to 48 hours, but they hoped for sooner, and they'd email me once the checks were completed. I left this overnight, and by late the following morning, I could access the withdrawals page in my cashier section.

When I clicked on withdrawal, I got a pop-up warning me about the bonuses I was about to lose. I dismissed this box, entered my remaining balance amount and clicked 'Confirm' to request the withdrawal. Another pop-up appeared with all the details to review, including news of a horrific £2.50 fee. This wasn't a percentage but just a standard fee which was sky-high considering I was just withdrawing £12.09. I checked the box to confirm I understood the fee and that I was forfeiting my bonus. After entering my password, the page said that I'd need to submit some documents to verify my account and complete the withdrawal.

Once my account had been verified, it took just over 1 hour for my withdrawal to be approved, which was super fast. Even better, the funds hit my bank account instantly so I can't fault the withdrawal speed here, it's just a shame about the verification delay plus the extortionate transaction fee.
