Rough design and lengthy verification checks do no favours to this casino which otherwise works and plays okay.

When signing up at UK Slot Games, I did have the option of ‘PayPal Quick Registration’, but I passed on that and went for the conventional route via the 3-step form. The first section was for my name, email and date of birth. The next page is where I entered my postcode to find my full address and the final page was where I entered a username and password. Once I’d filled it all in, it took a couple a second for my account to register, and I was all set. I also got an email to confirm my successful signup and inviting me to deposit some funds.

Once I’d logged into the casino, I found it pretty underwhelming, to be honest. All the basics are here, but that’s where it ends, it’s just too basic for my liking. Irritating little things, like the way my bonus and real cash balance are displayed as a single total, just really let this site down. There’s also a very sparse account area with some very limited information and setting plus no transparency on my bonus wagering status. This all adds up to a pretty uninspiring casino experience here.

The bonus here comes in one of my least favourite forms, that of a randomly given prize on the spin of the ‘Mega Wheel’. Immediately after signing up, I got a pop-up message inviting me to make a deposit and claim my chance of winning up to 500 free spins on Starburst. Once I dropped in the deposit and refreshed the screen, I saw the Mega Reel pop-up inviting me to spin it. Hitting the big green arrow, the wheel spun into action and landed on 50 free spins on Starburst. It might just be me, but I’ve played at other casinos with the same offer and landed the exact same prize every time. Strange.

I played through the 50 spins, which were worth £0.30 each, and landed a few wins along the way. My final winning bonus balance came out at £19.71, which was instantly added to my bonus balance. The frustrating thing was that this just showed as one combined balance on most screens at this casino, making it hard to know which cash I was playing with.

Looking into more detail at the welcome offer, I could see that it carried an extortionate 65x wagering requirement on my winnings. This means I would need to wager £1,281.15 before I could turn my meagre winning into real cash. I’d rather take my chances elsewhere and forget about trying to complete the high wagering here.

Navigation-wise, things are pretty tidy here, and it was easy enough to find everything I wanted too. The main minus point here is the duplication of categories, where the ‘Hot Slots’ are very similar to the ‘Newest’ games selection making it slightly pointless. There was also a lack of any ability to search by the game provider, which I found annoying.

First up, I had a few £0.30 spins on the classic Immortal Romance. I managed to land a couple of £3+ wins and came away happy enough. I moved on to Rainbow Jackpots for a few more spins and managed to land a nice £14 win amongst other smaller gains. Checking out Piggy Riches Megaways I just couldn’t sniff out any wins from my £0.20 spins so trotted away empty-handed.

Having a look at the live casino games, I was pretty disappointed by the offering here. Listed simply as ‘Table’, this is actually a mix of virtual card games with a few live streams thrown in. I loaded up one of the Live Blackjack streams, but the cards didn’t fall my way so called it a day after a few disappointing hands.

I’m happy to report that all the games loaded up and played without any issues on the desktop version of the site. It’s just a shame that the live casino section is left a bit lacking here. That said, there were a few video bingo games to pick from if that’s your thing.

I wasn’t massively impressed with the mobile version of the site. Yes, all the same functionality as the desktop version is there, but the layout is pretty underwhelming. It was annoying that the balance was showing as 1 total, and I needed to click on it to see my separate cash and bonus balances. I also found the game menus fiddly to use, and the bottom navigation bar was unnecessary here. It just contained a couple of quick links to Fluffy Favourites and Starburst, not 2 games that I’d rush to play at any time I have to say.

Checking out how the games ran, I had a few £0.25 spins on Chilli Heat but failed to land any wins worth mentioning. I moved on to Book of Gold Double Chance, but my fortunes didn’t improve so I decided to draw a line under my mobile exploits here. It was nice to see that I didn’t hit any snags when playing on the mobile site and everything ran smoothly, it’s just a shame about the shifty design.

I was disappointed to find out that the support offered by UK Slot Games only extends to a rather limited FAQ page and an email address. I did drop the team an email, and it took them just over 24 hours to respond to my question about account verification. The reply was basic, and I’d say that’s a bit too long to be waiting for a response if the issue was urgent. How any casino can fail to provide a live chat function these days is beyond me so they will be dropping marks there.

Taking a closer look at the FAQ page, it does cover all the basics, but some of the answers are pretty limited. Take the subject of account verification, for example; there’s just one short answer on this which is no good considering the lack of a dedicated verify page on the site.

I first hit a verification snag when I tried to make my first withdrawal. At this point, I got a pop-up message telling me that my account was being ‘reviewed’ and it could take up to 48 hours to complete. It also said I’d get an email when this was done but didn’t ask me to send in any further documentation at this stage. The annoying thing was that I never got an email to say that this review had been completed and I could request a withdrawal. I only discovered that it was possible by logging in again a few days later and attempting it. Poor service here and I can’t tell you exactly how long this took, but it was certainly more than 3 days!

I did search around the site for any more info on verification at this stage but just found a single answer in the FAQ section. It listed the documents which would be needed and the email address to send them to. There was a total lack of any dedicated verification page or secure upload portal anywhere at this casino.

After playing a few slot games, I got a pop-up message saying that I could verify my account now to make things go smoothly in the future. The casino was requesting proof of ID and a proof of address to be sent to the support team. The strange thing was, the email address wasn’t mentioned in the pop-up, so I had to go hunting for it around the site. I followed the instructions and emailed in what they asked for to see how long verification would take. I got an instant auto reply asking for my date of birth and postcode. None of this felt very secure!

They initially requested ID and proof of address, but then 28 hours later, I got another email from the verification team asking me for a photo of my payment card. I really don’t understand why they didn’t ask for this all in one go as it took a further 29 hours until my account was fully verified. The whole process felt messy and much more hassle than it should have been.

Immediately after signing up, a pop-up invited me to add some funds and claim the welcome bonus of a spin on the Mega Wheel. I entered my card details into the basic form, selected the pre-set amount of £50 and hit the massive green ‘Deposit Now’ button. After around 10 seconds, I landed in the casino lobby, but the balance still showed as £0. A quick refresh of the page fixed this as my real cash balance now displayed as £50. Not the smoothest of starts, I got there in the end.

When I initially attempted to make a withdrawal, I got a pop-up message informing me that my account was currently being reviewed. It said that this process could take up to 48 hours which was pretty annoying considering they’d let me create an account and deposit without any issues. When I was eventually able to make a withdrawal request, I didn’t find the process all that friendly. There was a lot of small text to read through, which always makes it feel like something shifty is going on. My fears were proven correct when I saw the dreaded £2.50 withdrawal fee mentioned; this applied regardless of the amount involved.

I manually entered the amount and hit the ‘Withdraw’ button. I got a pop-up warning me about the bonus balance that I was going to use with an option to cancel the request. I clicked to confirm and landed on a page asking me to send in documents to verify my account. At this point, I was already mid-verification, so this was a bit confusing, but I just ignored it. The withdrawal was eventually approved, and the funds hit my bank account instantly. The whole process felt very drawn out because of the frustrating verification process at UK Slot Games which would put me off from playing here again.
