Zinger Bingo looks like a well-designed site but after a few minutes things started to get messy, especially on mobile.

At first glance, I was happy with what I saw, but as soon as I started to play at Zinger Bingo, the cracks in the site’s design started to show. Things like being unable to easily find the withdrawal option, terrible customer support, and an unusable mobile site made my overall experience here a miserable one.

Creating an account here, however, was pretty painless. I completed the simple 4-page form to sign up and added in the welcome bonus promo code on the final page to claim the bonus, or so I thought. Once inside the site, things looked pretty well laid out on the desktop version, and I enjoyed a few games of bingo before trying out some slot games.

I got a bit miffed when claiming the bonus at Zinger Bingo and ended up missing out on my free bingo games. Despite entering the promo code, I landed on the welcome offer page after signing up, where a big button asked me to ‘Claim Offer’. I found this a bit confusing but clicked anyway, which triggered the banking pop-up where I could make a deposit to properly claim the offer.

Once I’d made my deposit, I clicked on the bonus icon in the top right corner. This told me I needed to bet £5 until my game vouchers were displayed, so there was no instant bonus to play with. After wagering over £5 on various games, there were still no game or bingo vouchers showing. I contacted the support team to see what was going on, but I just got a rambling response about responsible gambling and how I could possibly get a bonus in 45 days time.

When I replied to ask why I wasn’t able to claim the advertised bonus despite entering the required code, the agent just replied in poor English ‘you are not going be qualified for any bonus’. I was made to feel like I had a gambling problem, despite only wagering a small amount and playing responsibly. Therefore, I can’t offer you much insight into the bonus beyond the fact it seems very hard to claim it!

From a quick browse, I could see that this isn’t the site to come to if you are a massive slots fan, but there’s still enough to pick from here. Slots are organised into basic categories, and so are the bingo games which are easy enough to navigate. There is a handy search function and ability to ‘Star’ your favourite games which is always welcome.

I started off with a spot of Bingo as this was the focus of the site. I played 2 games with 12 cards on ‘Number10’, which cost me £2.40 each time. I did win but had to share the jackpot so didn’t even get my wager back. Moving onto a game of ‘Wonky’ I went all-in with 96 cards for £4.80 but failed to hit a full house. I moved on for a final 96 £0.04 cards on ‘Fun’in 90’ but came up empty once again. It seems that bingo isn’t my thing. The bingo games played okay, but the chat window failed to load or work properly several times.

Checking out the slot selection, I had some £0.20 spins on Neon Staxx, but nothing came my way there. I had a few £0.25 spins on Magic Portals which paid off as I won over £8 from triggering the free spins round twice. I followed up with some uneventful spins on Starburst and Pyramid: Quest for Immortality which both came to nothing so threw in the towel.

All the slots I tried loaded and played without any issues, it’s just a shame that they open up in a new browser window each time. It wouldn’t be so bad, but they appear in random sizes too, which make them easy to click out of by mistake.

It’s a shame how such a decent looking site on desktop can completely fail when I tried to use it on my Android mobile phone. I loaded it up using my Chrome mobile browser but didn’t get very far. The basic problem here is that the site is not at all mobile responsive. It wouldn’t work in portrait mode and was barely usable in landscape.

When I tried to play some bingo games, the screen didn't adapt properly, and I gave up. I’m sorry to report I wasn't able to play any mobile bingo here. Slots fared a little bit better, and I had a good run of £0.30 spins on Immortal Romance. The only downside was that once my funds ran down, the game crashed and displayed an error screen.

If they had a dedicated mobile app or some better development on their main site, then it could be so much better. I didn’t have a tablet to hand, but I’m guessing it would work better if the device has a larger screen.

Clicking the ‘Help’ tab on the right of the screen loaded up a terrible looking chat box in a new window which covered the entire screen. Pretty annoying when you only need a tiny pop-up to chat with a support agent. My chat was answered in under 20 seconds, and I was asked to confirm some basic account details before getting any answers to my question about the bonus. The support agent even asked me which site I was using, so this is obviously part of a wider network of sites. That didn’t feel like the best experience.

When I enquired about my lack of bonus on signing up, I got a very long message about player responsibility and gambling limits. It didn’t seem to make any sense and felt like a cut and paste job. Then the agent just gave short replies in poor English to my further questions. It was a pretty bad experience all round, and I felt like they didn’t give a toss about me.

On the plus side, the site does have a decent FAQ section if you are looking for quick answers, but the poor chat experience ruined it for me.

I had a good look around the Zinger Bingo site for some info on having my account verified and found a ‘My Documents’ section under my account settings. Here I could upload up to 3 files when required to verify my account. There was also a handy info button which displayed more background on what documents would be required, in what formats and why.

Zinger Bingo aims to process all account verifications within 24 hours, but it says it can take up to 72 hours at particularly busy times. I would get an email to let me know if my account had been verified or not. As it turned out, my withdrawal went through with no issues and no further proof of ID, address etc. was required. I’m sure it helped that it was a low amount but I was happy to know what I’d need to do in the future when required.

After signing up, I clicked on the ‘Deposit’ button to add some funds to my new account. I selected the Debit Card option and then checked the box to say that I understood the site’s Funds Protection Information. Doing so gave a pop-up with all the info. On the next screen, I entered my card details but couldn’t see a button to proceed. I had to zoom out in the browser window to 60% to see this, and then I could click on ‘Add Payment Method’. This certainly wasn’t good web design.

The final screen was for selecting the amount and entering the 3-digit card security code. I clicked to complete the deposit, and a reassuring kerching noise a few seconds later confirmed it was a success. The confirmation screen showed a £40 cash balance meaning I could get on with playing some games.

Coming to make a withdrawal, I found it difficult to find the option to get my winnings out of the site. Eventually, I worked out that I needed to click the ‘Deposit’ button at the top of the page, then click the minimised tab on the left of the deposit pop-up. This displayed a sidebar with the ‘Withdrawal’ option shown. I’m not sure why they want to hide this function away; it only makes the site seem a little bit shady.

Clicking on ‘Withdrawal’, I entered my desired amount and was pleased to see a £5 minimum here. Then I selected my saved Mastercard Debit card and clicked ‘Continue’, getting a pop-up box to confirm the withdrawal. A message confirmed my successful request and said they will attempt to process it within 1 working day, but it might take up to 7 days to reach my bank account.

It took 47.5 hours for my withdrawal to be approved. Despite the lengthy approval time, the funds hit my bank account instantly once the withdrawal had been approved.
