Rush Casino is a website that immediately caught the eye. It’s decked out in neon purple and light blue, which gives it a ‘rave in the forest’ vibe and reminds me of the lights you used to put under your car in Need For Speed. If that reference doesn’t work for you, google it. Trust me.

It was a good introduction to the website, and the style definitely matched the name. After all of that, I was in a rush (get it?) to sign up.

Signing up took the form of three steps. First, I put in my personal information. Next, I was asked for my contact information. Finally, it was time for my account information as I was asked to pick a username and enter my password.

And boom, that was that. Only one final step remained, and that was to verify my email address. I had to check in my junk box for this, so users who are waiting a while to receive their verification email should check their spam folder.

This homepage was heavily geared towards slot games, but the menu was easy to access and that included options for popular slots, new games, megaways, all games and table games. One thing that I didn’t really like was their lack of a live casino offering, which will definitely make some players take their custom elsewhere.

This website has two welcome bonus offers, which users could pick from. Both of them have a 50x wager requirement, which is pretty high, but offered decent terms.

The first is for people who are just dipping their toes in the casino game and offered a $50 bonus on a $10 deposit, while the second is a 100% bonus up to $800 - which is fairly generous.

Users could either enter a deposit code or select which bonus they wanted from the deposit screen. There’s a little link just underneath the ‘deposit amount’ section that says ‘see available bonuses’. Anyone who wants to claim their bonus should click there.

I like the option that’s offered to individual players, but despite that, the bonuses themselves aren’t world-beating and the wagering requirement is a little high.

As the homepage was heavily marketed towards slot games, I headed their first. I’ve been playing a fair bit of Red Dead Redemption 2 on my girlfriend’s PS4, so Dead or Alive 2 (NetEnt) really caught my eye. This is a wild west themed slot game that features train heists, bottles of whiskey and all the pistol sounds you could shake a stick at. However, the only robbin’ and lottin’ that happened was of my wallet, so I tried my luck on a different game.

Everyone likes pirates, right? They certainly grabbed my attention on Rush Casino and that’s why I settled down to play Pirates Plenty Battle for Gold (Red Tiger). But did I win in plunder? Well, shiver my timbers, as hard as I tried I couldn’t find that promised gold.

One thing that was disappointing about Rush Casino was its lack of live casino games, but they still provided plenty of table options. I tried out some European Roulette (NetEnt), which worked well (apart from all the times I lost), but without the fun of the live casino, it got boring fairly quickly so I left for a few hands of Classic Blackjack (Red Tiger), which also did its job just fine.

This website would have got an excellent score had it included a live casino section. I suppose for players who like slots, this won’t put them off, but for the rest of us it’s a serious stumbling block.

This website has to be tested over mobile, and I was pleased to find a simple layout and a site that had been well designed. What was less pleasing, however, was the initial lack of functionality. No matter how many times I clicked on the game I wanted to play, I was met with nothing. Nada. Nowt. I had to refresh the page and try another couple of times before I could draw a response and play Book of Dead (Play’n GO).

This is game has serious Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom vibes, but there were no sinking feels of dread for me as I won a few small spins and exited with a little profit. Despite the initial problems, this game played well of 4G and I had problems once I managed to access it.

I played a quick round of European Roulette (NetEnt) to test out the table games but the functionality issues persisted - I nearly rage quit trying to get it to load! - but eventually, I was in and underway.

I didn’t manage to win anything, but overall the mobile site worked fairly well and it was easy to navigate around it. The only thing that brings the score down a bit was the sheer frustration of battering my screen only to be met with an unresponsive website.

Live chat wasn’t available when I tried to ask them a question about account verification, and that was at 4pm during the week in New Zealand. Obviously, for Kiwi players, this isn’t ideal and it shows that Rush Casino don’t really have a plan in place to provide the best possible service for us.

In its place, I sent an email and I wasn’t really pleased with their pace of reply. It took Rush Cashino over 24 hours to get back to me, which isn’t great service.

I was asked to verify my email address when I completed the sign-up process. Sometimes these emails can take ages to land in your inbox, but Rush Casino sent mine within seconds of me completing my sign-up. I wasn’t asked for any other information during the deposit or withdrawal process.

Rush Casino has a large selection of available deposit and withdrawal methods. All withdrawals are processed within 3 working days.

The minimum withdrawal amount is NZ$10.

Rush Casino made it easy to deposit money using my e-wallet, even if there was a little glitch that meant I had to start the process again - but once I did it wasn’t long before my $50 was nestling in my balance. It’s always more difficult to get your money back, but the process was fairly painless on Rush Casino. As the time I made my withdrawal, I was told it would take up to 48 business hours to see my money, but I was pleasantly surprised with the speed my money landed in my e-wallet - I reckon it took just 12 hours.
