When we first launched our site, we had one central mission: To inject life and colour into the world of virtual entertainment. We have succeeded by building an interface which is colourful and easy to use.
The word ‘Yako’ means ‘your’ in Swahili, so if you are looking for that personal touch, our casino offers you a unique and personalised experience.
Signing up for an account is a doddle so that you can get started in no time. You can also rest assured that you are playing in a safe and fully-controlled environment since we are licensed and regulated by both the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission.

How exactly does Yako Casino set itself a class apart from the competition? Well, this review aims to answer that by assessing the pros and cons of this online casino. As usual, online casino titles hint at what to expect, and it isn't any different with this iGaming destination. Yako simply means "you" in Swahili. Therefore, Yako Casino translates to "Your Casino," aiming to provide a revolutionary, personalised casino experience.
Signing up was pretty simple with a two-step form. On the first page, basic information such as my email address, password, country, and wagering currency was required. The second page saw me filling out some personal details, including first name, surname, address, city, postcode, number, and birth date.
Clicking "confirm" redirected me to a welcome page, notifying me of the activation link sent to my email. The next logical step here was to activate my account using the link, which I did. Following the link, I landed on a page with the different deposit methods on offer. More on that when we get to that section.
Design-wise, the purple-dominated colour scheme is easy on the eyes. The site layout is also user-friendly, with options easily accessible.
You might want to get started with a bigger bankroll. It is for this very reason that we have created a generous welcome package to get you started on the right foot:

To see if Yako made good on their promised goodies, I made my first ever deposit. Selecting my preferred payment method, they redirected me to a page to input details such as deposit amount, card number, first name, surname, card expiry date and bonus code.
Well, things didn't quite go as planned - no values for bonuses save for bonus codes that are practically nonexistent for first-time deposits. Given this development, I had to make do without them.
Unlike other online casinos with clear and straightforward bonus terms, I found the ones for Yako Casino hazy. Upon going through the bonus info, I discovered that I couldn't activate bonuses because I tapped "Don't Show Me This again" instead of "Go To Bonuses" on the pop-up that displayed immediately after making an initial deposit.
In a bid to correct this error, I went through the bonus information once again and couldn't find anything helpful. For NZ players looking for something more concise regarding bonuses, Yako might not be the right fit.

There are heaps of games you can enjoy at our online casino. Featuring software providers, such as NetEnt, Evolution Gaming, Barcrest, Thunderkick, Scientific Gaming and Microgaming amongst many others, there are more than 1,000 slot games on offer. That’s not all; we are also home to jackpot games, video poker, live dealer games and many more.
Amongst some of the most loved slot games, there is 1429 Uncharted Seas, Flame Busters, Esqueleto Explosivo, Coins of Egypt and Top Cat.
Players who want to tempt their luck with jackpot games can do so with games such as Mega Fortune, Mega Moolah, Major Millions, Hall of Gods and Arabian Nights.
We haven’t forgotten about our table game fans. Players can enjoy a range of variants for popular titles, such as Blackjack, Roulette and Video Poker.
You can also play a range of Lottery titles and online scratchcards.
Being a freebies lover and not getting them due to a slight error that wasn't my fault entirely felt annoying. Regardless, I was there for the games and trying them out was the next logical step.
"Reactoonz 2" was the first slot I tried to observe the differences against the previously released "Reactoonz." Powered by Play'nGo, this game has an excellent transition effect. I noticed different symbols and reel arrangement from the get-go, giving it a more modernised slot feel.
The bet value for a spin here is set at NZ$4. Fortunately, there's an option to reduce it to accentuate your casino bankroll. I had mine reduced to NZ$1.20, and after seven spins, I amassed a total of NZ$3 from low-value payouts. I moved on swiftly to seek my fortunes elsewhere.
My desire to garner more payouts led me to the video slot "Jumanji Touch." Developed by NetEnt, this game looks archaic and unflatteringly simple. Spins here are valued at NZ$0.20, and I took lots of them. Taking a total of 15 spins, I was able to make winnings worth 50 coins - meagre by my standards. However, with a bet value that low? No complaints.
At the live casino, I set wagers on "Crazy Time." Touted by Evolution Gaming to be one of the craziest, most fun games ever, I had high hopes.
Here, there's a physical wheel spin with the title "Crazy Time" boldly written in the middle. Before I could play, I had to input a username, and choosing "ok" meant I could place bets on numbers.
Having set NZ$0.20 bets on different numbers occasionally, my fortunes came good for the first time, winning a total of NZ$5. It's not much, but a step in the right direction.
Some features are also worth mentioning. For example, there's an autoplay feature that helps you place wagers even when you're on the move. Also, there's a host in a specially designed attire responsible for spinning the wheels and calling winning numbers.
With the live chat feature present, players can interact with one another smoothly. During my time here, though, chats between players were non-existent as all the comments bordered on the female host’s beauty.

Yako Casino was built using the latest HTML5 technology, which means that our website works across a range of operating devices. Whether you own an Android, iOS, Windows or Blackberry, you can rest assured our website works seamlessly.
Since there are no mobile casino apps, you need to visit our website from your smartphone or tablet, to enjoy all the features and perks you are accustomed to.
The website loads fast, and there is a substantial collection of top mobile casino game titles.
With the absence of a downloadable app, you'd expect Yoko Casino to churn in all their resources to build a website that's simple and interactive.
At first glance, the site looks good and user friendly. Unfortunately, this isn't the case all round as the website tends to reload and show error messages occasionally.
One thing I couldn't wrap my head around was how to add games to your "favourites." Although there's a "star" icon as you tap on a game, it's practically impossible to click as doing this ushers you into the game instead of adding games to that section.
With slots, there's no option to try for free - a slight bummer. On other online casinos I’ve tested, there's always an option to play for fun and I fail to see why Yako is different.
That said, there’s a laudable pro associated with Yako casino. Load times for games are on par with the competition with top-notch transition effects.
Overall, my mobile experience here was a disaster. The idea and concept of the site is great, but execution is lacking.

- Live Chat

- Email: Support@yakocasino.com
I accessed support by clicking on the "support" icon at the bottom of my screen. Contact can be established here via email, phone number, and live chat.
Tapping the "chat with us" icon with hopes of being redirected to a page where I could speak with a customer support bot for prompt replies, nothing happened.
Making numerous taps on this option didn't change anything and I concluded the chat link was probably broken, a massive setback for customer relations.
Using the email option, I was instantly redirected to my Gmail app to draft a mail. Although response times aren't the greatest, it works regardless.
Clicking the "call us" option, I saw a number to call. After several tries, my call finally went through to a customer representative who was prompt and polite with replies making me feel valued as a customer.

Documentation on Yako was a breeze featuring a two-step form which I filled out in no time. All in all, I completed this process in under 5 minutes.
Gaining access to the site, I was immediately notified about an activation link sent to my email address. Receiving a notification, I headed to my email and proceeded to click the link. It wasn't as straightforward as I hoped - it took three tries to load the site up.
However, upon activation, there wasn't any follow-up mail informing me of a successful procedure, making the whole process look pointless. Why bother if users don’t get a confirmation?
Wanting to find out if any other documents were required from me, I headed into "my account" to see if there was any section for document upload. It took me a while and a PC to locate this bit under “My Account.”
With document uploads being standard practice at numerous online casinos, Yako Casino doesn’t do so much in reassuring users of safety and security.
Making a deposit or requesting a withdrawal is easy. We only work with the world’s leading payment processors to keep your transactions safe and secure:
- Bank debit and credit cards
- Prepaid Vouchers
Hitch-free deposits are a staple on other online casinos I’ve reviewed, however, that of Yako wasn't. I used my ASB Visa card at first, filling out required details, including First Name, Surname, Card Number, and Card Expiry Date, yet my transaction couldn't be processed for some reason. I consider it necessary to add that I have always used my ASB Visa card to fund all my Casino accounts and never experienced any issues until now.
In search of an alternative source of payment, I reached for my MasterCard from TransferWise, which I've seamlessly used for online and offline overseas transactions. This time I was able to make a deposit without issues.
When I tried withdrawing, it was reversed with a mail that they don't support MasterCard withdrawals (I would later learn that most NZ-approved online casinos don’t). In the mail, I was advised to use ecoPayz while on the website, I could see three options: Visa, ecoPayz, and Skrill. I decided to fund my account again with a Visa card since I didn’t have an ecoPayz account at the time.
After I funded my account a second time with a virtual Visa card from TransferWise, I noticed that those three listed withdrawal options were unclickable, the logical alternative was to make a bank transfer. Going through all the available menus present on Yako, there wasn't an option for bank transfers, leaving me stranded.
Seeing as I was on mobile, I decided to use my PC to see if this issue persisted. Fortunately, I could click on the Visa card option to make withdrawals. Inputting the required details, there wasn't any message informing me of a successful transaction or otherwise.
Logging in again after a logout, there was this huge pop-up notifying me that I had a pending withdrawal and I was relieved knowing that my transaction was being processed. Reading further led to the discovery that Yako doesn't welcome deposits when you have a pending withdrawal request. To deposit, you'll have to cancel the withdrawal. I don't know who makes these policies on Yako, but they need to do better going forward.
Three hours after my withdrawal request, I received a shocking email from Yako. Here, I was notified of a 5% transaction fee because I didn't wager the full amount of my deposits. According to them, I had to wager NZ$14.60 more to qualify for free withdrawals.
Furthermore, I was asked to hand in some verification documents. Well, I sent all the needed information to them via email. 46 hours later, Yako casino was yet to finalize my withdrawal request. Contacting customer support once more via email, I got a message moments later prompting me to send a front and reverse side image of my deposit card.
Now, I’d used a virtual Visa card since the one linked directly to my bank account didn't work. Providing them with this requirement is almost impossible, as there's only a front side to virtual cards (which I snapped as-is on my phone and sent to them). Explaining this issue to the customer support didn't yield any result initially, as I had to explain twice.
Having received my documents, I was notified of my complaints being queued with that of other players to be reviewed soon (without a timeline); this was the height of it, and I was livid.
Well, that wasn't the end of the withdrawal process. Twenty-four hours after I sent the required documents, the customer support team informed me via email that all efforts to make payments into my virtual card proved abortive. Reading further, I was directed to make another deposit using Skrill or ecoPayz.
Depositing another $20 via ecoPayz and sending a screenshot (for verification purposes), my account got credited with my initial and second deposit summing up to $88 paid in full. With the daunting withdrawal process on display at Yako, I won’t be revisiting it anytime soon.
Based on my personal experience, I would say Yako Casino failed in several ramifications. From site errors to deposits and withdrawal issues, the cons outweigh the pros.
While the online casino has the potential of being at the top, the problems inherent may drive potential players away.
