Safer Gambling Week 2021

by Christoffer Ødegården

Safer Gambling Week 2021 is approaching. The campaign will run from 1st to 7th of November and aims to help players make better and healthier gambling choices.

We advise all our readers to participate in Safer Gambling Week 2021, follow them on Social Media and take the steps to protect yourself and your loved ones from falling into problematic gambling patterns.

Safe Gambling: How to Protect Yourself

The most important thing to always keep in mind is that gambling is simply a form of entertainment. You should think of it exactly the same way you think of all of your other hobbies.

If you treat gambling as a hobby, bet within your means and know when to close the computer or walk away from the table, you should be in the safe zone. However, there are several quick steps you can take to protect yourself further.

GambleAware has a great slogan: "When the fun stops. Stop.". This is really the best advice anyone can give you. Gambling should be fun, enjoyable, and exciting. It should never feel like a chore, and it should certainly never invoke a feeling of dread or despair.

Here's a quick list of tips you should follow to ensure that you never edge towards problematic gambling:

We also strongly advise that you activate any and all responsible gambling tools available at UK casinos, including the reality checks telling you how much time and money you've spent during your session.

What is Safer Gambling Week?

Safer Gambling Week is led by the gambling industry as a whole, with casinos, review sites and organisations working together across the UK and Ireland to promote safe gambling.

While responsible gambling is a year-round initiative for us, this is the perfect time to really place safe gambling on everybody's lips.

We recommend anyone interested in responsible gambling to join in this week and participate in the workshops and training sessions hosted by GamCare and YGAM. These sessions are especially focused on young people, and helping them understand the risks associated with gambling.

Follow Safer Gambling Week on Social Media, and visit their website (link above) to stay on top of all events and general updates.
