Karamba Casino (UK) is one of the oldest and most established brands in the industry, having launched back in 2005. Karamba is not only known for their choice of games, but also for their offers and promotions.
Let's go Karamba!
With over 1,100+ gaming options, players can find more than just slot games and can avail themselves to sports betting, live dealer games, scratchcards and many more.
Karamba's parent company Aspire Global has recently launched its technology-driven sports book, which is steadily becoming a player favourite.
For a long-established casino, I think Karamba is in need of a well overdue update so it can compete with the big boys.
Design-wise things are starting to look seriously dated here. I found that everything just about works but the site animations and page transitions were sticky, and elements were slow to load. When using the desktop site, I quickly got annoyed by the massive scrolling top banner which takes up the whole screen.
Some of the graphics didn’t fit properly, and I couldn’t see which game menu was currently selected. Plus, the irritating phone with the speech bubble popping up is distracting and unnecessary.
Thankfully, I found the sign-up process nice and simple with a speedy 2-step form requiring all the usual personal details. I was asked to create a username which felt a bit old school and verify my email address. In the email, the verify button was below a regular button to visit the site which is pretty dumb.
After signing up, I got a separate email from agechecked.com on behalf of AG Communications. This looked like spam and would have been better if it mentioned Karamba somewhere or if I had a warning it would be sent to me.
Once I’d signed in, I was prompted to make my first deposit. It felt a bit odd that this wasn’t part of the actual sign up process, and it makes it easier to miss the welcome bonus offer.

Karamba’s bonus deal is pretty modest on the cash side with a 100% match up to just £50, but I like the fact that there are some spins included. The 100 free spins are spread over your first 3 deposits so they will require another two £20 deposits to bag the full benefit. This makes it an attractive offer, but I would have liked to see the free spins spread out a bit more. I don’t think that having to make deposits 3 days in a row will suit most players.
The wagering requirements are bang on the industry average of 35x (B) on both the spins and cash bonus. The real downside here is the very long list of games I found buried in the T&Cs which contribute 50% or worse to the wagering requirements. You’ll want to do your research well before taking on this bonus. There’s also the VIP Program, but I found the bar at the top of the screen pretty confusing. Each time you load a page the bar jumps up to the halfway point which gave me false hope I’d progressed more than I had. Clicking on it brings up a page with all the levels laid out, but there’s no explanation of how to progress through them. It just says that ‘you will earn points’ which feels more like an order than a request. After playing a few games and spending around £40, my bar was at 17% but I’m none the wiser.

In the video slots repertoire, popular titles, include Book of Dead, Gonzo’s Quest, Jungle Spirit and Wolf Riches.
For those players, who prefer table games, you can access games such as Jacks or Better, Roulette and Blackjack.
I found Karamba easy enough to navigate, and everything is well-arranged games wise. The main sticking point for me is the massive scrolling banner on the desktop site. This made it hard to see if you had actually switched between games categories when clicking on the main menu.
As a casino that’s been around for so long, I was a little disappointed the games selection here is less than 1,000 titles. All the well-played titles were present and correct though. There’s even the odd exclusive game, such as Friendly Fruits, but I was pretty underwhelmed with the choice.
Having a rummage around the slots lobby, I had a short session on Fortune Pig for 20 spins at £0.50 a spin but no decent wins. The game seemed a bit clunky and I had to click some buttons twice. With no option to make it full screen on a desktop, the game looks cramped and frustrating to play. Next, I tried some £0.50 spins on Fire Joker with no results. Again, the game did lag a little bit, even over a 50gbm WiFi connection.
I switched over to the Live Casino lobby for a few rounds of Lightning Roulette and Football Studio which both worked smoothly. But again, nothing decent came my way and my funds were running low, so I decided to call it a day. It was annoying that clicking on the live casino game thumbnails just leads into the evolution lobby and not the actual game.

I found that logging in on mobile caused me to be kicked out of the desktop site for security reasons. It’s fair enough, but there was no warning about it happening. There was no app for me to download so I used the chrome browser on my Android device to test out the site.
The site was a bit clunky loading between screens just like on desktop, but the actual games worked smoothly. The layout is better on mobile as the banner isn’t as intrusive. The look and feel seem very dated to me when compared to many of the big casino brands around right now.
I had a session on Book of Dead with some £1 spins but no luck at all. I then had a crack at the Karamba exclusive Friendly Fruits slots using the 20 bonus spins I got with the signup bonus. I won £5 but quit the bonus as I was never going to wager that 35x over.

It took the Karamba team around 3 minutes to pick up my live chat message. The frustrating thing was lack of any indication on when I’d get a response; it just said they would be with me shortly. The chat system is powered by a 3rd party and doesn't look like it’s part of the site. In fact, it’s a much nicer design and even features a list of FAQs to explore before contacting anyone. My email asking about Skrill payments got a pretty speedy reply in under 3 hours, so I was pleased with that. All messages were polite and to the point, I couldn’t ask for anything more here from Karamba.
There is a dedicated FAQs page found under ‘Getting Started’ in the main menu. This is pretty comprehensive and smacks of a long-established casino.

I found the document ‘Upload Document’ section under the ‘Account Settings’ section of the main account menu on mobile. Confusingly, it’s in a slightly different place on the desktop site but still easy to find. Here, I could upload up to 6 documents if I need to. As it turns out my modest £10 withdrawal didn’t trigger any verification requests this time around.
Karamba accepts a variety of banking methods, depending on your country of residence.
You can make deposits by using Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, online banking, Trustly and PaysafeCard.
I found that dropping in a £40 deposit at Karamba using the desktop site was pretty straightforward. No limits were shown, just pre-set options of £40, £60 and £80 with the option to enter amounts manually. If I tried to enter anything below the £10 minimum deposit, a message did show up below the box.
The 2.5% fee was a real kick in the pants, however. The charge was clearly displayed and added to my total deposit before clicking the button to top up my casino bankroll. It just felt like a steep fee to be charging on all deposits and really put me off before I’d made a single spin.
I claimed the bonus to try it out, and the matched cash and 20 free spins were credited instantly and could be cancelled in the ‘My Bonuses’ section.
It was equally simple for me to make a withdrawal by clicking on ‘Cashout’ in the main menu. However, it took 46.5 hours for Karamba to approve my withdrawal using a Visa Debit card, just shy of the stated 48 hours maximum time. This is the longest approval wait I’ve encountered in a long time and it felt very frustrating.
It will now take up to 3 days until the funds hit my personal bank account. Just imagine if I’d have triggered any verification checks, this process could have taken much longer. Not great.
