Spreadex is one of the most interesting bookmakers available to UK players, since they offer you fixed odds bets, spread betting and also financial spread bets. Spread betting is especially good for horse racing, so Spreadex is a great choice as a bookie for friends of equestrian affairs.

The fixed odds section of the bookmaker is very nice as well, giving you betting markets in 20 differents sports - all of them firm UK favourites. There's two mobile apps available, and with all practical matters handled well Spreadex offers players more than many bookies.

Spreadex offers something quite different to the norm at UK betting sites, with users offered the choice between spread betting and fixed odds wagers on its sportsbook.

Spread betting is quite complicated - losses can also exceed deposits - so it is vital customers fully understand how this works before they try these kinds of wagers at Spreadex, which is the current shirt sponsor of Burnley FC.

A dated design could do with being improved, but functions such as plentiful live streaming and a trio of different cash out options help to ensure that the Spreadex sportsbook is very strong. Customer service is good here, but the team only works between the hours of 8am - 5.30pm.

Payment methods are quite limited, though, with users not able to deposit via an e-wallet, crypto or pay by phone bill, with bank transfer, cheque and debit cards the only way to add funds here.

Spreadex Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for its spread betting option, while the site is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission for fixed odds and casino. This should reassure customers of Spreadex that it is a safe place to bet.

Overall rating:

Spreadex free bet & sign up offer

If you are a new player at Spreadex, the bookie provides you with a fantastic opportunity of earning £40 in bonuses!

The offer works as follows:

Place a qualifying £25 fixed odds bet at odds of 1/2 or greater and get £5 free bets in a five consecutive days.

E.g. Qualifying £25 bet placed and settled on Monday. Then:

In addition to this, you will also receive an extra £5 total goals spread bet after you've used the first and second £5 free bets. The free bets will be added to your account one per day after your qualifying bet is settled, and their winnings are free of wagering requirements.

You will also receive 50 spins to be used on Starburst. Each free spin is worth 10p and there are no wagering requirements.

You can use the free fixed odds bets by clicking the "Claim as free bet" button on from your bet slip when placing your bet. The stake of the free bets will not be returned, and like the qualifying bet they must be placed with odds of 1/2 or greater.

Claiming the Spreadex free bet and sign up offer is simple - simply sign up through our link. As with most similar deals out there these days, a qualifying wager must be placed to get this deal.

Free bets must be claimed within 28 days of opening an account at Spreadex. In line with most welcome bonuses at UK betting sites, free bet stakes are not included in any winnings either.

Spreadex's welcome bonus is dished out in instalments, rather than being awarded in one go.

The small print of the terms and conditions for the free bet and sign up offer does not mention either a wagering requirement or a cap on the amount of money that can be won via the deal.

Additionally, Spreadex offers a refer-a-friend scheme with plenty of extra free bets up for grabs.

Spreadex doesn't offer no deposit bonuses or free bets at the moment.

Spreadex's fixed odds payout percentage comes to around 94%, which is pretty standard in the industry. However, like always this rate can change pretty significantly based on the sport or league you are betting on, and as usual better payouts can usually be found in the more followed matches in general.

On SpreadEx sports, odds can be displayed in decimal or fractional format.

Spreadex has fixed odds and spread betting prices available, but we will focus on the former.

Fixed odds prices at Spreadex are generally towards the top end of the market, which is good.

Football fans in particular will be happy to see high prices across the board at Spreadex, but the relative lack of sports betting promotions puts a dent in the overall value on offer here.

Spreadex does not have a Best Odds Guaranteed offer for horse racing fans to use either.

The betting markets at Spreadex are catered especially towards British players, which is extremely evident in the sports available. This means that traditional favourites like horse racing, football, tennis, boxing and rugby take center stage when betting at Spreadex.

There are also plenty of smaller markets like greyhounds, gold, snooker, politics, cricket, darts and American football to enjoy as well, so boredom won't be an issue. The betting platform is no-nonsense style, focusing on having as much information for players visible at all times.

Lots of different sports betting markets can be found at Spreadex, which has lots of variety.

Football fans will see there are hundreds of markets for most big games, while a bet builder tool is in place to enable users on this site to create their own same-game accumulator wagers.

Spreadex also offers its own special #NameIt betting market, which is its version of the request a bet sections that can be found on a lot of the UK's biggest and best betting sites these days.

The fact that both fixed odds and spread betting prices can be found for most major markets at Spreadex offers customers a lot more choice than on many rival sites within the industry.

However, the list of sports available to bet on at the Spreadex sportsbook is not comprehensive. While the likes of volleyball, table tennis and handball can be found here, a lot of other minor sports are missing at the moment, though of course they could be added at a later date.

Politics markets such as the next UK general election are offered, while esports such as CS:GO and Dota 2 betting can be found, along with virtual sports like football, racing and table tennis.

Cash out is available at Spreadex, which means that you ensure that your bet is a winning one when you are winning, or minimize losses when you are losing. The more likely your chances of winning, the bigger cashout amounts will be available - you know the drill.

However, what sets Spreadex apart from a lot of bookmakers is that they offer a partial and automatic cash out in addition to a normal one.

A partial cash out of course means that you can cash out the percentage of your bet that you want, while the automatic one means that your bet will be cashed out once a certain limit is reached.

No matter what the time is, you can find something fun to bet on in Spreadex's in-play betting section. Live betting odds can naturally be found for both spread betting a fixed odds, and all sports from the pre match -section are available.

One of the highlights of the in-play at Spreadex is their stats section for almost all games. The stats open in a completely new window on desktop, and are one of the most extensive stats services provided by any bookie online to help you with your live bets.

Spreadex makes a major push on live in-play betting, with both fixed odds and spread betting markets available for a massive range of sporting events.

Flicking between fixed odds and spread betting options is simple enough, while football fans will find the site's stats centre to be an extremely useful resource when seeking winning wagers.

Live streaming of all UK and Irish horse racing is also available, which is great news for fans of the sport of kings who are considering signing up for a sports betting account at Spreadex.

Furthermore, I was also able to watch live football from Australia on a live stream at Spreadex, with the site showing A-League games in a box on a side menu at all times, which was great.

Tennis and dogs racing is also available to stream, with all of the different sporting events offered in this service able to be seen through a handy menu on the site's left-hand side.

Cash out is a major part of the live in-play sports betting offering at Spreadex. Unlike on a lot of other top UK sports betting sites, there are three different ways to cash out bets at Spreadex.

Spreadex customers can cash out part of their bet - for fixed odds singles and multiples - while one-click cash out is another good function available to users of this UK sports betting site.

Spreadex Live stream

Spreadex also provides players who have an account on the site with money in the option of enjoying live streams of UK, US and Irish horse racing. This of course means that they're an especially good bookmaker for racing enthusiasts, while there's plenty of other stuff to find from the streams.

This is what Spreadex live streaming looks like on mobile

Spreadex takes good care of mobile players, as there are applications available for both iOS and Android users. These will provide you with the best experience on both smart phones and tablets, but of course you can just use the browser on your device.

However, we definitely recommend using the apps, since they are slightly faster, clearer and better optimized for an enjoyable betting experience at Spreadex.

Expert's review Jamie Smith

As with most major sports betting brands in the UK these days, Spreadex has its own app.

Available to download for both iOS and Android, the Spreadex mobile betting app offers all of the same gambling options as the desktop site, though the mobile site is a good alternative.

Android users have given the Spreadex mobile betting app an average rating of four stars out of five, while iOS are more impressed - the app is rated 4.7 stars out of five on the App Store.

App users can access live streaming via their handheld devices, making the Spreadex mobile app for iOS and Android a must for anyone who wants to tune into the latest action on the go.

Safe & responsible gambling

Gambling and betting must always be done in a responsible manner, and Spreadex wants to help with that. However, if you feel like you could be suffering from problematic gambling behavior, stop playing on all betting sites immediately.

At Spreadex, you can:

I was connected to a friendly customer service agent immediately when I used live chat at Spreadex to ask a query about the site's KYC identification checks.

The staff member was able to fully resolve my issues within a matter of moments, while Spreadex also hosts a very detailed FAQ area which will help out a lot of users as well.

Anyone with an account can also call the Customer Services team on 01727 895 000 too, while it is possible to fire over a message via email to the team at as well.

However, one issue is that customer service at Spreadex is only offered from 8am - 5.30pm.

KYC & Documents

Opening a Spreadex account is easy, and oftentimes you won't be asked for any additional information when creating one. However, due to KYC and other regulations in place you might need to prove your identity and address in some circumstances. These can be done with:

Joining Spreadex to bet on sports is quick and easy, with a short registration form to fill in.

The process is very similar to joining other sports betting sites in the UK, with users asked for details such as their name, address, date of birth, email address and so on by Spreadex.

After joining, I was shown a message that informed me that my account had been verified, allowing me to proceed with making a deposit and placing both fixed odds and casino bets.

Customers of Spreadex who want to activate sports spread betting on their account at the site will have to go through a few additional steps in order to be able to place these types of wagers.

I was told on joining Spreadex that my account was subject to deposit restrictions of £500 per month and £2,000 in total unless I was willing to offer up some more information to the site.

While those limits will be enough for most Spreadex sports betting customers, KYC checks may also have to be passed by those who intend to add a lot more money into their account here.

I filled in some information about my income and was again automatically verified by Spreadex, with customer service informing me it was very unlikely any documentation would be needed.

Spreadex makes it easy to make deposits to their site, as there is no limit to how small of a deposit you make. You can enjoy making money transfers on the site with traditional debit cards like Visa, Mastercard and Maestro, while bank transfers and cheques are also accepted.

You can even apply for an account with a credit limit. Withdrawals will reach your account within 2-5 days with all methods, while the minimum withdrawal you can make is only £1.

Unfortunately, options for money transfers and payment methods at Spreadex are very limited.

Debit cards like Maestro, Visa Debit, Visa Delta, Solo, Electron and Debit Mastercard can be used, while a same-day bank transfer can also be made to the site's Barclays Bank account.

The minimum payment amount is £10 and it is also possible to make a deposit by cheque here.

However, a lot of the more modern payment methods are missing from the list at Spreadex. It is not possible to use an e-wallet such as PayPal or Skrill, or cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin.

Paysafecard and pay by phone bill are among the other common payment methods missing.

For withdrawals, Spreadex offers only debit cards and bank transfers as the available options. The site warns users it can take three business days to pay out after the request is processed.

Users who request a same-day sterling payment (CHAPS) have to pay a fee of £25, but otherwise Spreadex does not charge any fees for deposits or withdrawals to its customers.

When I made a withdrawal via debit card at around 9am on a Friday, I received the funds just before midnight, so about 15 hours later.
