Despite the devilish focus here, I didn’t find this site hell to play at. However, a few basics did let it down.

The signup process just took 3 simple steps with the usual details such as an address, email and mobile number required. Once these were entered, I needed to confirm my email via a verification link which arrived instantly. This gave me a screen where I could opt-in or out of their marketing stuff.

I finally landed on a screen which said ‘Feeling Devilish? Deposit to get your £66 Welcome Bonus plus 66 Bonus Spins’. Here I opted into their welcome offer and then moved on to make my first deposit. The whole process went without a hitch and everything was clearly explained with no sneaky tricks to get my consent for anything.

One of the main sticking points I found with the desktop site is the massive scrolling banner which takes up the whole screen. This makes it hard to know which page I’m currently on and is very distracting. I get the hellish theme of the site, but the constant images of a budget Peter Kay in various poses were pretty annoying.

On both mobile and desktop, some elements of the site were slow to load. I found the overall look and feel here a bit rough around the edges and think they would benefit from a quality redesign at some point soon.

I claimed the 100% cash match welcome bonus when signing up and got 66 free spins for Book of Dead included. I dropped in a £40 deposit so had a £40 bonus cash balance appear on my account to match it. Both balances appeared pretty instantly with no delay in the bonuses coming through. There is also a 50% cash match bonus on my next 5 deposits. I worked out that the full bonus possible is £396 and would take deposits totalling £726 to bag it.

There were no prompts for using the 66 free spins, so I just loaded up Book of Dead and the message confirmed that they had been credited. I played through the whole pile of £0.10 spins, winning a modest total of £3.60 which was added to my £40 bonus balance. This accumulated total of £43.60 would need to be wagered 35x (B) before I could withdraw any bonus winnings. It’s also worth noting that I needed to play through my £40 real cash balance before starting on the bonus funds. I decided to quit the bonus once I’d hit some decent wins with my real money funds.

Checking over the terms of the bonus, I found a massive list of slots that contribute 0% to the wagering requirements, including progressive jackpots and table games. Well worth checking this if you are going to take it on.

There’s also a loyalty points scheme at 666 Casino. I got 2 points for every £10 I wagered on slot games, with fewer points given for other game types. I can cash in my points when the balance reaches a minimum 1,000. By my calculations, I need to wager another £2,500 to bring my balance up to 1,000 points and claim my £5 bonus cash. It doesn’t feel like a very generous scheme when you look at it that way.

After playing through my 66 free spins on Book of Dead, I switched to browsing through slot game selection on the site. Under the main slots menu, I could filter the games by the most recent and most popular. There was a separate menu to pick games by the provider, which I found handy. As I scrolled around the site, some of the game thumbnails were slow to load up. This felt laggy and didn’t convey a well-built casino site. That said, I can’t fault the selection of games on offer, it felt very up to date compared to a lot of other casinos.

First up I had a batch of £0.25 spins on Fat Rabbit and managed to land a few £3+ wins thanks to the tractor wilds feature. Next up, I tried Gonzo’s Quest with 35 £0.20 spins and hit a £5 win on my second go but couldn’t repeat those wins. I moved on to Jack Hammer 2 with some £0.50 spins and triggered 10 free spins from the base game. I managed to land a win of £34.92 here as my luck kept growing.

Switching to the live casino section of the site, I was disappointed to see a pretty limited selection of games here. There were just 19 to choose from in total. The confusing thing here is the main menu has tabs for Roulette and Blackjack, but these just lead to a selection of video table games. The Live Casino option is buried down in the casino sub menu for some reason.

I had a few spins on Dream Catcher but with no wins coming. After playing a few rounds of Super Sic Bo and NetEnt Live Roulette, I just about broke even. All the streams loaded and worked without a glitch so no complaints there.

There’s no dedicated app, so I loaded up the site in the Chrome browser on my Android mobile. Some of the game thumbnails were a bit slow to load up as I scrolled down the page even on a solid wifi connection. I didn’t get the feeling that this is a well built and smooth mobile site, but it chugged along without much issue. The navigation is the same as the desktop setup, and I found it just as easy to move around the site.

Game-wise, I took Piggy Riches Megaways for a spin and quickly landed 9 free spins with a 10x multiplier. Landing some more spins along the way the bonus game paid out £37.86 on top of some £5 wins in the base game. I had a few £0.50 spins on Rhino Rampage but with no wins to report there.

I loaded up the Live Chat window when I was using the mobile casino. It was answered in less than 10 seconds, and the advisor was polite but a bit slow in responding to my questions. They told me all I needed to know when I asked them about making a withdrawal so can’t fault them for that. Once the chat was finished, I had the option to be emailed the transcript, which was a nice touch.

There’s no dedicated FAQ section on the site, just 3 basic questions and a troubleshooting section on the ‘Contact Us’ page. I think they are missing a trick here which could easily help to reduce the number of chats and emails these guys get asking them about basic stuff.

Searching around the site, I couldn’t find any information at all concerning KYC procedures. There was no dedicated page to upload documents or any information anywhere saying what might be required in the future. When I did ask about verification checks via the live chat feature, the assistant just said that I would be emailed if anything was required from me.

After making my withdrawal request, it was approved without any verification checks taking place. It looks like this casino is waiting until the £2k threshold before they enact any KYC checks on players' accounts for now.

There are plenty of depositing and withdrawal methods available at 666 Casino. They have also implemented a pending period policy, where it would take between 48 and 72 hours to process your withdrawals.

You can make deposits using one of the below methods:

  • EWallets
  • Prepaid vouchers

When I was making my first deposit, it was clearly stated that ‘from 14th April 2020, we will no longer accept credit cards for deposits in accordance with UK regulations’. I was also pleased to see clear info stating that there are no fees on any deposits at 666 Casino.

There was a good range of payment options shown, and I went for MasterCard Debit using my Revolut account. It was a little bit odd being asked for the full payment details before selecting the amount to deposit. This seems to fly in the face of most online transactions.

My £40 deposit went through in a few seconds and quickly displayed the 100% cash match £40 bonus balance and £40 cash balance as two separate amounts. I also received confirmation of my deposit via email a few seconds later.

When it came to withdrawing my winnings, the page stated that ‘due to current regulatory guidance, you will not be able to reverse this cashout request’. However, when I read the email confirming my withdrawal, it said ‘your withdrawal will stay pending for approximately 2 days; during which time you have the option to reverse your withdrawal’. That’s a bit confusing, but I’m guessing the email template hasn’t been updated as there is no withdrawal reversal option in my account settings.

As no KYC checks were required, it took 25.5 hours from requesting my withdrawal to having it approved. It was then a further 1.5 days before the funds hit my account. I was a bit confused by the withdrawal email I received which had some kind of error going on. It just said ‘Your {currency}{last withdrawal amount} withdrawal via {latest payout method} {last 4 digit numbers} has been successfully processed’. Therefore it contained none of the details I needed, which was pretty annoying.
