There haven't been too many innovations in the world of sports betting in recent years, but one of them has definitely been Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS). FanTeam is a relatively new DFS-site, but in addition to this they are also a fully fledged online bookmaker!

The bookie combining fantasy sports with normal betting holds a UKGC license, so they're naturally available to all UK players. If you're looking for an interesting new choice as a bookie, FanTeam provides this with a versatile selection of betting and DFS services, not lacking behind in the practical services of more experienced bookmakers by much.

The focus is very much on fantasy sports games at FanTeam, but the addition of a sportsbook - although there is no casino option on offer - ensures there is plenty for users to pick from here.

Unfortunately, the sportsbook is quite limited with horse racing and golf among the many major sports that appear to be missing entirely from the selection on offer.

Though the FanTeam odds are OK, the site's live in-play interface is not the best and can be a bit confusing, while there is no live sports streaming on offer, but 24/7 customer service is good.

The fact fees are charged on some withdrawals at FanTeam is also notable, while the strict wagering requirements make it hard to profit from the FanTeam free bet and sign up offer too.

All in all, though, the presence of so many daily fantasy sports games ensures that FanTeam has something different to offer from the norm in the crowded online sports betting market.

Overall rating:

The FanTeam free bet and sign up offer is available by clicking through Bojoko's exclusive link.

As the bonus will be applied to new users automatically, there is no need to enter a promo code.

The terms and conditions for claiming a FanTeam free bet and sign up offer are not particularly complicated, with a qualifying bet having to be placed in order to get the betting bonus.

However, in the small print it is made clear there are quite strict wagering requirements to meet.

This means it could be hard to turn a profit from the current FanTeam free bet and sign up offer.

Withdrawing winning also means that FanTeam customers will forgo any active bonuses too.

Other promotions, along with a FanTeam free bet and sign up offer, include a refer-a-friend deal but there are not a lot of betting bonuses to claim on the sportsbook side of things here.

The odds at FanTeam come from GoalServe, which provides players with the unique opportunity of betting both via the traditional sportsbook and through daily fantasy. Especially good value for money can be found from football betting and choosing to bet on some of the most popular and followed leagues around the world.

FanTeam appears to have solid enough odds for most sports, but they are not the best around.

Comparing the odds for fantasy matchups at FanTeam is tricky as not many other betting sites in the UK have these kinds of markets for their users to bet on.

FanTeam seems to lack price boosts and other enhanced odds, which help to improve value.

In addition to some of the world's best DFS-games, there is plenty to be found from the betting markets at FanTeam. There aren't too many sports to choose from, but if your favourite things to bet on include football, tennis, cricket, esports, basketball and ice hockey, you're in luck!

In these sports all the biggest leagues are nicely covered, and each match has a huge amount of betting options. The betting platform itself is very nice and modern, as you expect from a pretty new bookie.

Although FanTeam says that it has more than 250 different leagues and competitions to bet on, its sportsbook is not as comprehensive as the biggest and best betting sites in the UK.

For example, a game in the Premier League has about 100 different bets on offer at FanTeam.

This is much less than many rival sites offer, though the chance to bet on fantasy matchups - such as which player will score the most points - helps FanTeam to stand out from the crowd.

Football, hockey, basketball and tennis are listed as the top sports to bet on at FanTeam. Those who are looking for horse racing betting, or markets for minor sports, will have to go elsewhere.

Live betting can be enjoyed today at almost every bookmaker, and FanTeam is no exception despite them also being a Daily Fantasy site. All sports that are available for pre match -betting can also be found in the in-play section of the site.

All matches that you can bet on live are equipped with a multitude of betting options to choose from. However, there aren't much stats to enjoy from the games, which can be considered a slight weakness.

The number of markets for live in-play betting is quite small at FanTeam and it is clear that there is work to do to bring the site up to scratch compared to the UK's top sports betting sites.

The layout for live in-play sports betting at FanTeam is not the best either, with a confusing interface and a lack of thought going into how high-profile live events are displayed here.

Cash out is a notable omission from the live in-play sports betting interface at FanTeam. With almost every other betting site offering cash out these days, this could be an issue for users.

At the moment, FanTeam does not have any live sports streaming available. As the focus is very much on fantasy games here, it is no surprise that this is currently the case on the site.

Mobile betting is nowadays more prevalent than playing on a computer, which is why newer bookies like FanTeam have invested heavily in providing the best possible services for players operating on smart phones and tablets. This is done with a perfectly responsive mobile site.

No matter the size of the screen on your device, FanTeam will adapt to it perfectly, so that all the buttons are still large enough to press and the menus will continue to be easy to use. For iOS users there's also an app available, but no matter what you choose to play with, your experience will be just as enjoyable as on a computer.

The FanTeam fantasy sports app is described as a "one-stop shop for daily fantasy and sportsbook" by the operator, but at the present time it is only available on iOS, not Android.

Some users on iOS have complained that the app can be slow and buggy to use, with reviews of the FanTeam app on the App Store not particularly positive at the time I checked them out.

Using the FanTeam mobile site on Android was a decent enough experience, though. Pages were fast to load and the full range of features of the sportsbook were all available here too.

Safe & responsible gambling

FanTeam wants to make sure that players on their site are betting in a responsible manner. This is done with a multitude of options for players to limit problematic behavior patterns, like:

You can set these limits yourself, and choose the time frames and amounts for the first three mentioned. The company behind FanTeam, Scout & Co is participating in GamStop, and by signing up for it you can self-exclude from all bookies in the UK for a certain amount of time.

Customer support is provided to players at FanTeam in English around the clock 24/7 in many ways. The first thing to take a look at when faced with a problem is the extensive list of frequently asked questions the bookie has provided, making it easy and simple to find the answers that you crave fast.

When an actual person is required to help you with a problem, FanTeam obliges with live chat and email support. The response times of these is nice and fast, so whatever your issue, answers will be provided quickly and with quality.

Customer service is 24/7 at FanTeam, which has its own support centre featuring a solid FAQ.

Live chat responded quickly to my query about uploading verification documents to my account.

There is no option to contact customer support via telephone, which is a shame, but questions can be sent in via email to and most people will opt for live chat anyway.

KYC & Documents

The United Kingdom Gambling Commission is one of the most respected licenses out there, and one of the facts that backs this is the rigorous requirements they have on the sites to be transparent and legal, like KYC regulations.

This is why FanTeam needs to know who's betting at their site for sure, meaning that players can be asked for the following documents while playing on the site:

Most likely the only thing asked of you will be proof your identity. Despite this, others may be asked of you at any point while playing, but luckily sending these is easy and can be done through your account.

Joining FanTeam was quick and easy, with a short registration form including the option to verify the account creation via a code that can be sent in either an email or an SMS to a smartphone.

For the next step of account verification at FanTeam, documents must be uploaded to the site including a scanned version or photo of an ID such as a passport, or a valid driver’s licence, or provisional licence. Verification for UK customers at FanTeam is needed before they play any fantasy games that are available on the site and is required by the Gambling Commission.

FanTeam attempts electronic verification on registration, which helps to speed up the process. However, the site does note that some users may be contacted via email if they need to be sent other documents for either proof of address or proof of identity. FanTeam says it aims to complete these checks within 24 hours, which means users should get up and running quickly.

When I joined FanTeam, it seemed as if everything was automatic so I did not need to upload any documents but I later received an email telling me my account had been suspended. I logged in to upload my ID through my account at 5pm on Monday and before 9am on the following morning my document had been verified and my account had its access restored.

While FanTeam may not be the most traditional bookmaker, when it comes to money transfers they place their trust in the most used and trusted methods at bookmakers worldwide. The smallest possible deposit you can make to the site is £10, while the minimum withdrawal is £20.

When it comes to the methods available, you can make both deposits and withdrawals using traditional debit cards like Visa and Mastercard, along with PayPal, Skrill and Neteller e-wallets, PayPal, online bank transfers and wire transfers.

Withdrawals are subject to some fees, which will most of the time be between a minimum of £5 and a maximum of £20, and a percentage of 4,95%. This means that while betting at FanTeam frequent withdrawals aren't the strategy to go with.

FanTeam has a decent enough choice of options for money transfers and payment methods, led by the usual debit cards and e-wallets such as Skrill, Neteller, PayPal and Trustly.

It is also possible to use Klarna and ecoPayz to make a deposit at FanTeam, but the site does not allow either cryptocurrency deposits or the option to pay by phone bill at this time.

Users can set their own personal deposit limits, with FanTeam having its own automatic limits too. Customers will only be able to deposit £1,000 in 24 hours, £2,000 in seven days or £4,000 in 30 days unless they get in touch with the FanTeam support team in order to raise the limit.

The minimum deposit at FanTeam is £10 and there are no fees unless users opt for Paysafecard, in which case a 10 per cent levy is attached to these transactions.

When it comes to FanTeam withdrawals, fees are not charged if users request a payment to either a debit card from Visa or Mastercard, or if they select the bank transfer option.

However, FanTeam charges a fee of 4.95 per cent per transaction on withdrawals to e-wallets. This is different from most other UK sports betting sites and could put a lot of users off. The minimum withdrawal is also set at £20 at FanTeam, which is higher than a lot of operators.

When I came to withdraw money out of my FanTeam account using the debit card I deposited with, the cash appeared in my bank within a matter of moments, which was very pleasing.
